Svipdagr the Cold is one of the twelve Berserkers that can be fought as an optional boss in God of War Ragnarök. She is fought alongside the Sisters of Illska. Svipdagr, along with the Sisters, can be found in Alfheim. Svipdagr (Old Norse: sudden day) is the hero of the two Old Norse Eddaic poems Grógaldr and Fjölsvinnsmál. There is a champion of the same name, possibly the same character, who appears in the prologue of the Prose Edda, in Heimskringla and Gesta Danorum. A hero named Svipdag is the one of the companions of Hrólfr Kraki. Svipdagr was a warrior in the Midgardian kingdom of Lejre who served under Hrólf Kraki, along with eleven fellow berserkers. She participated in Hrólf's seizure of the crown, where she earned the epithet "the Cold". Upon her death, Svipdagr's spirit went onto inhabit the Hilt of Skofnung.
