In recent days, the sea has receded impressively in Santos and Praia Grande, drawing the attention of residents and tourists. But has this phenomenon happened before? In 1541, historical records indicate that the first village in Brazil, São Vicente, suffered great destruction caused by the advancing sea, leading to the reconstruction of the city in an area further from the coast. Was it a tsunami? Or an extreme natural event?
