Call Of Duty : Modern Warfare 2 remastered - Mission 12 Continuing off of the action in "Of Their Own Accord", Pvt. Ramirez and his team make their last stand around the crashed helicopter they had been previously riding on. As Russian forces approach, the search light of an enemy Mi-28 whites-out the screen; meanwhile, in outer space, an unnamed astronaut with the designation Sat1 is on a EVA (Extra-vehicular Activity) mission outside the International Space Station (ISS). A few moments later, Houston's Mission Control requests a video feed from Sat1's helmet camera, where he then sees an unknown missile being launched - which was the SLBM that Captain Price had launched in "Contingency"). Suddenly, the unidentified missile explodes hundreds of kilometers above Washington D.C., creating a HANE (High Altitude Nuclear Explosion). This in turn generates an EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) that removes all power from most of the East Coast and generates shockwaves that destroy the International Space Station, and by proxy kill Sat1. Back in Washington D.C., the squad witnesses a flash in the sky, and witness attack helicopters falling from the sky and Russian forces retreating. The Rangers are initially confused, before Foley concludes that an EMP had been activated. They then leave the crashed helicopter site and frantically avoid crashing helicopters and exploding vehicles before managing to take shelter inside a building. After the EMP fallout is over, Foley takes point and leads the squad, carefully inspecting each area. The Rangers comment on how quiet the streets are and how their sights are disabled. Foley then told Cpl. Dunn to take point, and the squad soon spotted an unknown soldier coming out from a building. Dunn yells "Star", before threatening to shoot them for not responding with the countersign. The soldier reveals himself as Pvt. Vaughan, who says that he's simply a runner and admits to forgetting the countersign, which Foley tells him is "Texas". Vaughan tells the group that Marshall is leading a strike force at "Whiskey Hotel" and that they should get there, and he walks away from them as he continues to look for more American personnel. The squad then entered a nearby building and encounter Russian forces, which they promptly take out. After making their way out of said building, they encounter another group of Russians trying to free several of their compatriots trapped inside a BTR-80. The Rangers kill visible opposition and leave the rest trapped in the vehicle. They soon encounter another group; Foley calls out "Star", and gets no response. He then threw a flare, startling the patrol and the Rangers promptly take them out. Shortly thereafter, they enter the Eisenhower Building and find the President's bunker, which Foley states is legitimate. Dunn opens the door and it reveals a desecrated area, and the player's screen fades to black as Dunn states that he hopes that everyone inside managed to get out in time.
