Suspect Sought in Triple Shooting

By Jerry Askin Three people are recovering after being shot outside a convenience store in Chattanooga. The shooting happened Sunday night outside the Rossville Corner Store on Rossville Boulevard. Jeremy Skipworth tells us where his friend Amy West was sitting Sunday night in the car now riddled with bullets.I think she was in the backseat. I'm pretty sure she was in the backseat, says Skipworth. She and two of her friends Christopher Penn and Dayontae Menifee were all sitting in the car when each of them were caught in the crossfire. It happened right outside the Rossville boulevard convenience store. They literally just pulled up, and right when they pulled up, somebody was looking at them funny, and before they know it....gunfire, says Skipworth. Now, Jeremy wants answers as to why his friend was shot in the shoulder. He says the shooting was random and unnecessary. She didn't know what had happened. she just know they were coming to the store to grab some chips, snacks, something like that -- and they never made it in the store, says Skipworth.Jerry Davis pastors at a church right next door to this convenience store. He says the idea of shooting near his church is heartbreaking. I've pastored at a few churches in this area in the last year or so and I've seen the gang activity in this area just explode, says Pastor Davis. And though each of the victims have been released from the hospital, still people say enough is enough. It's definitely a bad situation, just to be pulling up at the gas station.... going to grab something and something tragic like that happens, says Skipworth. We're told the suspects were driving a white Ford crown Victoria at the convenience store Sunday night. Any information you have on suspects, call police.
