Pulsars and gravitational waves

Pulsars and gravitational waves

Today I'm going to talk about the use of pulsars to detect gravitational waves produced by supermassive black holes, the enormous cosmic monsters that reside at the center of many galaxies. This technique requires measuring the pulses of these neutron stars with incredible precision and using coordinated observations from a variety of radio telescopes. This research is presented in the scientific article: “The International Pulsar Timing Array second data release: Search for an isotropic gravitational wave background,” published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, https://doi.org/10.1093/mnras/stab3418 Background music: • Composition 137 - Mylonite MRP (Mylonite Recordz Production) • An Ocean Of Galaxies - Stellardrone • Darklight - John Dyson Follow me on: • Website… https://naricesdetycho.org/ • Twitter… @naricesdetycho • Facebook…   / naricesdetycho   • Instagram…   / naricesdetycho   • YouTube…
