Fresh off a flight from Dallas Fort Worth, I was granted 4 critical days off. I opted for a quick escape to Chiang Mai, Thailand. The trip served as a long-awaited redemption for my January Sapporo holiday, which had unfortunately been derailed by snowstorms. I was so much enchanted by the city. I chose Chiang Mai in pursuit of serenity and a slower tempo. My trip was a complete success: I fulfilled my primary goal with some intense Muay Thai and indulged in local food like khao soi, pad thai, and mango sticky rice. I balanced my time between aesthetic cafes and moments of spiritual reflection at the city’s ancient temples. Once the sun set, the vibrant night markets were the perfect way to cap off each day.
