DAY 1 | SIMPLE ROSE TEA

DAY 1 | SIMPLE ROSE TEA

Yes, my counters are stained. We make strong tea around here. 🙂‍↔️ Day 1 is on. Grab your rose (or whatever herb you’ve got lying around) and get brewing. Build the habit, not the perfect cup. One slightly-too-strong cup at a time. Simple Rose Tea (A Habit, Not a Masterpiece) I start with a few dried rose petals. I don’t measure, but still make sure the strainer isn’t crammed full (I’ve learned that lesson, rose needs space and too much = headache). Water goes on until it’s just off the boil. I pour it over the petals. Steep 5–7 minutes. Sip. Get To Know Your Rose: Smell it dry. Is it dusty perfume or floral heaven? Crush a petal between your fingers. Sticky? Smooth? What do you notice? I always bite my herbs dry. (But you don’t have to.) I sit with the taste. Smell it damp. Roses change when they soften. After steeping, take a deep breath. Different? Same? Weirdly nostalgic? Rose is subtle until it isn’t. PS: The Sh*t No One Tells You About Tea is out now! Want the free tea tracker journal? Message me on Substack @TheMinimalistHerbalist, and I’ll send it your way. No automation here, it’s just me, so give me a few hours to reply.
