Huygen's principle of secondary waves | Wave optics | physics | Eduspark

Huygens' principle of secondary waves (or wavelets) is a geometrical method for understanding and predicting how waves propagate. It is based on two key ideas:  *Every point on a wavefront acts as a new source of secondary wavelets. These secondary wavelets are small, spherical waves that spread out in the medium from their point of origin, just like the primary source would. The new position of the wavefront at any later instant is the envelope (common tangent surface) to all these secondary wavelets, in the forward direction of wave propagation.  #physics #waveoptics #wavefront #huygens #neet #malayalam #eduspark #malayalam #shorts
