Q and A live every Monday at 1PM EST. The show lasts about 2.5 hours. In a recent video, I talked about the Walmart overnight parking ban and the boot or barnacle that they are using on the windshield of vehicles to get them to pay a fine. This is legal as Walmart is private property. Have you been booted? How much did you have to pay? July 14-20 is the DOT blitz for speeding and unsafe driving. Be on the lookout. They are also checking for seatbelt use which is mandatory. There was a survey done and many drivers are complaining that they need more hours available to work each day. HUH? Some drivers were saying that under the current hours of service they were unable to make any money. The problem is not the hos, the problem is you aren't paid for the work you do. Stop trying to work more and start making more for the work you do. One driver even wanted to allow experienced drivers to have no HOS limits. Ridiculous. How many hours would your company make you work if you had no HOS? All of them. There have been many people touting a trucking recession but that simply is not the case. The BLS said there were more trucking jobs in May than there have been since January and DAT reported rates are also the highest since January. Also, freight volume is up 6% the first 6 months of this year versus the same 6 months last year. There will always be doom and gloom out there but don't believe it. People have to eat and people all need toilet paper. Keep a good record and you will not have a problem getting a job. Amazon Prime is being taken to court by Prime, Inc for trademark infringement. The problem is, Amazon Prime was the first one to get the trademark but Prime doesn't care about a little thing like that. We will discuss it.
