World’s largest lift irrigation scheme project in history, with capacity to irrigate 1.6 million acres of cultivated farmland of Paddy, cotton, etc. across different areas in Telengana state. With the help of gigantic pumps the project has absolutely succeeded to lift water from Godavari river, which flows 100m below sea level, to several metres above sea level. More importantly, The project has found a better way to utilise excess water from both Wardha and Wainganga Rivers without affecting the water levels which previously used to flow to Indian Ocean. The automated irrigation scheme project has made availability of safe and clean water to millions of local residents residing around the project areas, (Telengana State), Which used to be dry land some months of the year especially in April and May. Despite costing of the project, in recent years the irrigation scheme project has encouraged most local farmers to engage more in farming activities which lead to surplus production of crops in Telengana state, India. The most interesting thing is the project have the longest underground irrigation tunnel of about 16Km.🤠
