Engine Power Loss: Seconds after liftoff, the fuel control switches for both engines moved to the "cutoff" position, starving the engines of fuel and causing a total loss of thrust. Cockpit Confusion: The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) captured one pilot asking the other, "Why did you cut off?", to which the other replied, "I didn't".
