Sunday Spin Natalie Cole This Will Be Chuck Jackson and Marvin Yancy Natalie Cole’s debut album, “Inseparable” was gold certified and includes R&B number one hits “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” and “Inseparable” earning Ms. Cole two Grammy Awards for best new artist and best female R&B vocal performance breaking Aretha Franklin’s eight-year winning streak. On the US Billboard rankings “This Will Be” reached number six on the Hot 100, number one on R&B8/Hot Soul Singles for 2 weeks, number five on Dance/Disco, and number 45 Adult Contemporary all in 1975. Refusing to record jazz material for fear of being accused of riding her father’s – Nat King Cole – coattails, Natalie chose to follow in the footsteps of blues and soul performers such as Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin.
