Afternoon reading with soft piano music

Hang out with me and a book on a bright summer afternoon. Enjoy a few minutes of quiet while reading with me — nothing but gentle piano and the occasional sound of a turning page. I’m reading a careworn public library copy of Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto. The binding is broken so it’s a little awkward to hold, but I’m glad the library has a copy for me to borrow. It’s lovely to see a book that has received so much attention before coming into my hands. It’s a short book, but I’m taking my time with it.
