On one hand, this was the most ambitious project to date: to kill a Fractal boss faster than any before. On the other, our grind for this record was cut short due to a patch, and that patch also happened to destroy the fractal speedrunning scene. There were many patches nerfing fractals and power classes in general, but this one was impossible to overcome. Traditionally in Fractals you would use a certain build and gear setup to acquire as many boons as possible, then swap to the build and gear setup you intended to use on the boss. This patch removed this functionality, when swapping builds or gear you would now lose all boons. Inventory swapping was also removed, but this was the real killer. This caused every existing world record in Fractals to be unachievable, meaning that there was little point to speedrunning anymore. Regardless, here it is: the fastest boss in gw2.
