🕯️ Origin of Good Friday (March 26)

Good Friday ♥ 【 POWERFUL PRAYER 】 In some Christian churches, the beginning of Holy Week is marked by Good Friday, that is, the Friday before Palm Sunday. In many traditions, this day marks the beginning of processions and celebrations to commemorate Passion Week, as well as honoring Our Lady of Sorrows, who represents the sorrow the Blessed Virgin Mary experienced with the crucifixion and death of her son Jesus. This day may also be known as Passion Friday. Its date varies, as does that of Holy Week, and it falls within the fifth week of Lent. Both Catholic and Orthodox Christian traditions commemorate the sorrows of Our Lady with various celebrations, including a Mass following the Stabat Mater. Good Friday is also called Council Friday. In the past, the celebration of this day was very popular in Catholic countries of Europe and America, also commemorating the sufferings of the Mother of Christ throughout Holy Week. Currently, the Friday of Sorrows before Palm Sunday is not a universal celebration of the Church, since the Second Vatican Council established that solemnities in the liturgical calendar should not have duplicate feasts in the year. This was in reference to the fact that the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows was commemorated on September 15. However, the Holy See allows that in those regions where there is great devotion to the Sorrows of the Virgin Mary, the feast may continue to be celebrated on the Friday before Holy Week. Our Lady of Sorrows is another title of the Virgin Mary, honoring the seven sorrows that the Holy Mother of Jesus experienced as the promise of salvation was fulfilled through the passion and death of Christ. 👍 Facebook:   / videoracionespoderosas   📅 Twitter:   / oraciones10   ✉️ Telegram: https://t.me/TuVidaCatolica 🌐 Website: https://www.oracion-a.com/ Marian Devotions: https://www.oracion-a.com/advocacione...
