Chapter 9 - Jacqui and Jax - All in the Family (Story Mode)

CHAPTER 9: We find young Jax and Jacqui Briggs approaching Shang Tsung’s island to investigate whatever presence Kronika has there. On the ship, Jax resolves himself that the future events he’ll come to know, will be different the second time around, while this worries Jacqui over her very existence should events change. Jax reassures her though, that her existence is likely fate. As they head into the courtyard, Jax reminisces on his days in the Mortal Kombat Tournament, but the two are quickly ambushed by current day Kabal, along with the Revenant Jade. After dispatching both, the two make their way underground to the Well of Souls. There they find the Well of Souls being siphoned into some kind of crown, along with someone guarding it, or should we say something: Noob Saibot. They defeat Noob, and just as they look to take the Crown, Jacqui’s father comes upon them, doning Kronika designed gear. He thinks he’s doing what’s right helping Kronika restart the universe, helping Jacqui. Jax squares off against Jax, and after defeating his older self, young Jax and Jacqui take the crown from the well and head out with older Jax over their shoulders. As they are about to leave, Cetrion ambushes them. Normally no mortal could take on an elder god, but with the crown at their side, the two use its power to become hyper powerful to take on Cetrion. Having Defeated Cetrion, they remove the crown, but Cetrion opens a chasm beneath Jacqui, forcing the two to hand over the crown, or kill Jacqui. Young Jax make the decision, and hands over the crown, saving Jacqui as Cetrion and old Jax leave to join Kronika.
