Star Wars: Jedi Survivor | HUGE IMPROVEMENTS | Xbox Series X VS PS5 | Patch 7 | Performance Mode

Gameplay comparison of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Comparing the performance of the Xbox Series X VS the PS5, both platforms have been updated and are running patch 7.0 which is currently the most recent patch to be made available by EA/Respawn. The game sees a truly transformational improvement in both performance and visual clarity thanks to further optimizations and the disabling of ray tracing in performance mode. Although drops can still happen, the frame rate is now extremely close to be being locked to it's 60fps target. For those like myself that may have an extreme dislike for screen tearing, this can still occur but is now vastly improved and I would say it is very much a rarity. Those with VRR may see further improvements in respect of screen tearing and should also help to clear up any loose frames in the cases where the game can still drop slightly. As per the patch notes, the PS5 now joins the Xbox in also benefiting from VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support. Thanks to the new improvements, it is a perfect time to finally jump in for anyone that was still on the fence or holding off in the hope of further optimizations. Pre patch 7, the resolution in performance mode was noted to have a maximum of 864p (1536×864) native resolution with a minimum of 648p (1152×648) with the resolution then being up sampled to 1440p using AMD's FSR 2.1. With patch 7, it does still appear that the resolution is outputting at 2560x1440p but is noticeably cleaner with far less artifacting. I imagine that this is being helped substantially by the fact that there is far less of a demand on the system with ray tracing being disabled allowing for the dynamic resolution scaling to stay closer to the 1440p target. Some artifacting and image break up can still be seen on occasion such as the fight against the ninth sister where you can see the resolution having to drop, but the image in general is far more stable than it was previously. The game is running in performance mode. Additional visual features such as Motion Blur, Film Grain and Chromatic Aberration are turned off to get the most accurate results possible.
