Get a full refund for Train Ticket Cancellation if the train is late!

Indian trains have a good chance of getting late during monsoons. And sometimes we cancel the ticket if we choose not to go by the train if it’s late. But if we do that, we won’t get a full refund. Here’s what you should do in case the train is late and you want to cancel: If your train runs 3+ hours late, you can file a TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) either at the ticket counter or online from your IRCTC account. After logging in to your account, you can go to “My Account”, choose “My Transactions”, click on “File TDR”, and then select the ticket and the reason for filing TDR, then submit. Time limits for refund are up to 3 hours (from the time of train departure at your station) for distances up to 200 kilometres, and up to 6 hours for distances ranging from 201 kilometres to 500 kilometres.
