A small peek from A Night of Blues for Kid Ramos (in memory of Nick Curran) Ottawa, ON. Nov 12, 2012. Irene's Pub, Ottawa ON (LtoR) Scotty Doubt, guitar; Rod Williams, harp and vocals; Bill Brennan, drums; Chris Breitner, guitar and bass; Don Cummings, Hammond B3 organ and bass. On Oct.6th, 2012 we lost Blues giant Nick Curran (age 35) to cancer and now it has come to our attention that another blues great, Kid Ramos, has recently been diagnosed with the disease. Cancer treatment in the U.S. is not cheap and we would like to show Kid our appreciation for his influence and talent. A benefit was held for Kid Ramos at Irene's Pub, Ottawa, ON Monday Nov.12th, 2012. Many of Ottawa's best blues players shared the stage to raise money for this great cause, including: J.W. Jones Firebelly Don Cummings Scotty Doubt Billy Brennan Buck Tingley Mannie Makris Artie Makris The Fat City 8 Other simultaneous events happened for the same cause on the same night across Canada. Halifax is the inspiration for this event and Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver joined Ottawa in raising funds.
