A man in his 20s was severely burned in a garage fire on Tucson's east side Tuesday afternoon. Tucson Fire Department paramedics transported the man to Banner-University Medical Center, said Capt. Barrett Baker, a spokesman for the fire department. The man suffered extensive burns to about 50 percent of his body. A cat died in the fire, Baker said. Crews responded to the 8900 block of East Calle Pasto, near East Speedway and North Camino Seco, shortly before 2:30 p.m. and found the garage of a house and a truck in the driveway fully involved in flames, Baker said.
