It's never too late to start... or start over (January 2025 ✦ Artist Vlog)

This month, was a time full of reflection! I returned to my oil painting, The Magical White Yak, spending countless hours hiding away in my studio. My little sketchbooks have also become constant companions, serving as tiny journals. A visit to a charming antique shop this month stirred reflections of how artists, like the antique stores, hold untold stories and forgotten memories waiting to be shared. The highlight of my month was welcoming my dear friend Sunshine for a visit! As the new year begins, I find myself drawn to weaving life’s humble, overlooked moments into my art. 0:00 Title 0:11 Intro 1:14 Day 1 — Plans for the new year 3:00 Day 2 — Unboxing my Oodie 4:03 Day 3 — Visit from Sunshine / Artist of inspiration 6:07 Day 4 — Receiving my stock from Melbourne 9:39 Day 5 — Solving problems with art 11:14 Day 7 — Artists are like antique shops 13:02 Day 11 — Shopping & drawing Moo Deng 14:20 Day 12 — My mother's studio 14:51 Day 13 — First day back in the studio painting "The Magical White Yak" 17:58 Day 14 — Reflecting on New Year Goals & painting "The Magical White Yak" 20:03 Day 15 — Painting "The Magical White Yak" 21:03 Day 16 — Buying art materials with my mum 22:16 Day 17 — Transfering a sketch for my mum 23:00 Day 18 — Shipping orders & 24:09 Unboxing the MOFT Snap Flow 28:25 Day 19 — Blueberry panacotta & a chicken sketch 29:02 Day 20 — Germ gave me a scare 30:08 Day 21 — Eggsistential Crisis Sketch 30:31 Day 22 — Finishing off 'Eggsistential Crisis' Sketch 32:03 Day 23 — Meet Beary 32:53 Day 29 — Sketching with the MOFT Snap Flow 33:07 Day 30 — Unboxing the MOFT Smart Desk 37:08 Day 31 — Packing Patreon postcards 38:08 Credits 🕯 ABOUT THE ARTIST I am a pop surrealist artist & illustrator. I live with my pet parrot Zazu and thousand plushies in my own little wonderland. My studio is full of feathers, paint, and sketchbooks. It’s a beautiful, chaotic mess, but that’s just the way I like it. My style can be described as a range of all things cute and whimsical with a tinge of gothic melancholy. It’s just that bitter-sweet. I studied Visual Communication & Illustration at UniSA and now work as a full-time artist, illustrator and livestreamer. ⚰️ Website: http://nekka.art 🦇 Shop: http://nekka.art/shop 🕷️ Commissions: http://nekka.art/commissions 👻 Twitch:   / nekkasart   🥀 Instagram:   / nekkasart   💀 Youtube:    / nekkasart   🖤 Patreon:   / nekkasart
