How to beat Absolute Radiance (Radiant) | Hollow Knight

A guide on how to beat Absolute Radiance - Radiant, meaning taking no hits/no damage in Hollow Knight. Any questions feel free to put in the comments :) TWITCH ►   / wayofloci   Absolute Radiance tips Phase 1 - 0:27 Attacks Horizontal Swords 0:30, 3 sword columns appear moving horizontally, you should jump away and then dash through the large gaps. The jump gives extra space and time to position. For the first and third column you should have shadow dash ready so you can i-frame through the swords themselves. Using Descending Dark is an option, especially in second phase with the spiked floor. Spawn Attacks, Abs Rad can spawn 3 different projectile attacks: Lasers, Swords or Golden Projectiles. Eyes glowing means she is spawning the Swords or the Laser, otherwise it's the projectiles. I recommend Descending Dark immediately when you see the light, as this will i-frame the first projectile. Spawning Swords 0:34, 2 sets of swords. Descending dark if you have soul, otherwise walk in the gap between the swords then for the second set walk to a position where the first swords passed through as they don't strike the same place. Using Abyss Shriek can be useful for this attack as it pauses you in the air and so can be used to pause in a gap midair. Spawning Projectiles 0:37, spawns either 3 or 4 golden projectiles. You want to feel like you're leading them into either the floor or platforms (in Phase 4). In this phase this is easily done by walking underneath them so it loops into the ground. You can also Shadow dash to destroy them. Laser 0:46, Vertical laser that travels horizontally. Requires i-frames to avoid, would recommend Shadow Dashing in order to have D.Dark ready for other attacks Spawning Lasers 0:52, 3 sets of lasers. The tell is when her eyes glows, would recommend immediately D.Dark-ing in order to i-frame the first laser if it spawns on you, after which walking to where a laser has just struck/appeared as they won't spawn along the same line in a row. Vertical Swords 1:10, 4 rows of swords which drop from the ceiling to the floor. Walk into the gap between swords (you can fit in the smaller gap between swords as well), would not recommend dashing during this attack as very easy to get hit. For phase 1 other than using descending dark to i-frame attacks, I'd recommend completing this phase using only nail hits in order to build up soul for later phases. Phase 2 - 1:50 Spiked Floor, half the arena floor will spawn spikes which then alternate sides. You can pogo on these as well as get rid of them using D.Dark as this pushes them into the floor. They will spawn back after a period of time though. If you attempt to D.Dark them too early, it won't work and will still spawn so may need to move or do another D.Dark as happens here... 2:11 This and Phase 4 are the only ones I'd recommend using Abyss Shriek for damage, however always keep soul enough for a D.Dark if needed. Phase 3 - 2:27 Non-stop vertical swords, you can stay directly in the middle and move in both the small and large gaps between swords whilst doing damage, however I'd recommend staying and jumping in the large gaps as is safer. Would recommend doing this phase with only Nail hits in order to build soul for next phase. Phase 4 - 2:47 Positioning, I'd recommend being either: Directly next to Abs rad in order to descending dark for i-frames for attacks, and can be easier to avoid attacks through small movements on the platform 3:43. Below Abs rad as this will allow you to avoid attacks with small movements walking, it's much more difficult and risky trying to dodge from the side with jumps & monarch wings as the distancing is not as precise, or As far away as possible, this spreads out the attacks as much as possible (in particular the 3 sets of lasers), so easier & more likely to avoid e.g. 3:07. Platforms & Projectiles, Spend some time learning to lead the projectiles into the various platforms in this phase, and traversing from end to end to get-to/or away-from Abs rad when needed. Phase 5 - 3:52 Climb, Will require practice to get used to the laser spawns as are very quick, be ready to dash immediately if one spawns on you.. You can drop to a lower platform once if needed but not more as the abyss floor is slowly rising. As you approach the top of the spires in the background the lasers will become more targeted, for this jump towards the sides of the screen and shadow dash back to draw away the laser and i-frame to return to the platforms. Phase 6 - 4:16 Projectiles, focus on leading the projectiles into the ceiling after which they despawn. Only after being comfortable with this, pogo to finish the fight.
