Let's Play Heart Gold Randomized Wedlocke ∙ Ep 31 : Boss Rush

This ain't gonna be pretty. Wedlocke Rules: #1: If a Pokemon faints, it's considered dead & must be released/placed in a box permanently. #2: You can only catch the first "eligible" Pokemon that you encounter in an area. It cannot be a genderless Pokemon, & in some cases you may need to try to encounter more than once in a route for a Pokemon that's the opposite gender from a Pokemon on your team, though. If a Pokemon is not paired up, you must find a "partner" for it the next chance you get, so the opposite gender for it. #3: Must nickname all of your Pokemon. #4: One male & one female make a "pair", which means they cannot switch to anyone else on the team, only among themselves. If one dies in battle you must send out it's pair to fight. If you make it out of the battle alive with only one in the pair, you may replace it with an opposite-gendered Pokemon from the PC or your next encounter if you don't have any. If the AI phazes you out to another pair with Roar, Whirlwind, etc., start using that pair instead. #5: You must release Pokemon or have them die in battle if you want to withdraw anything in your PC (optional, but I don't think I'll be doing that unless it's absolutely necessary). If you can't progress without using an HM, you are allowed to swap out a Pokemon from the PC temporarily (will also only do if necessary).
