San Francisco Cable Car Turntable

Powell-Hyde Cable Car Line San Francisco is one of the coolest cities we've visited. Here we were waiting for the cable car to take us on a thrilling uphill journey to the the top of Hyde Street in tony Russian Hill district when we saw how the car was swung around to start its return journey. The music in the background is a couple of guys - guitar and drums - that set up on the street. They know an attraction when they see one! Watching the conductor use a giant key and then to manually swing the cable car was one of the unexpected surprises of this gorgeous and multi-faceted city.
