This video was sent to me a few years ago by the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) and I feel it has a very important message. For more safety information, visit http://www.NSWMA.org This is from a DVD that is intended for use as a public service announcement on local TV. Rather than keep the video for myself, I am posting the 30 second clip that's on the DVD as a YouTube public service announcement. If you'd like to see the full 60 second version it's already on YouTube here: • NW&RA: Slow Down to Get Around PSA and can be found on NSWMA's website here: http://www.environmentalistseveryday.... From the literature NSWMA sent me: How you can help. Just as you have learned to stop and wait for school buses, slow down in construction zones or move to the side of the road for emergency vehicles, NSWMA is working to educate drivers when approaching garbage trucks to prevent a collision with a collection employee or the truck. 1. Slow down when approaching a garbage truck making its rounds. Stop if necessary to allow workers to do their jobs. 2. Look for workers before attempting to pass the truck. 3. Check for traffic approaching from the opposite direction before proceeding around the truck. 4. Avoid distractions like eating, changing the radio station or talking on your cell phone when maneuvering near a garbage truck. More information here: http://www.environmentalistseveryday.... Here's a link to the original video I uploaded: • Slow Down To Get Around Thanks for watching!
