The Truth About Final Cut for iPad: Apple Think They Slick 🙅🏾‍♂️

I was ecstatic about professional apps coming to iPad. I still am, kinda. I don't love subscriptions (at all) but I understand them from a business model. Look, I use them for my tutoring business. Anyway, I was excited to try out Final Cut and explore how it compares to LumaFusion (which I love) when it comes to video editing. I went ahead and sold my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 to a friend (good deal both ways, was planning on anyway in preparation to upgrade my iPad Pro this or next year) and decided to use that money to upgrade to the latest m2 iPad Pro. I downloaded FCP for iPad and was ready to start learning the software and see if it was right for me. I noticed there were some video tutorials that were in the app, which I thought was dope and would help out tremendously. Then, I noticed a lock symbol next to about half of the videos. Apple is charging to have access to the tutorials in the app. I think that is pretty uncool. Definitely not okay with that. Deleted the app immediately, packed up the iPad Pro and am returning it (edit, I just returned it). Decision to return was only partially based on this, the other part is that in 4 years and 2 iterations, the latest iPad Pro is embarrassingly too similar to the one that I sold. Now, I am going to rock with my iPad Mini 6, and LumaFusion for all my editing needs. Until the new Pros come out and have a headphone jack, and 2 USB-C's like the Macbook Airs (wishful thinking).
