Adam Warlock, a creation of The Sovereign, dropped in to capture 89P13 (Rocket) and return him back to The High Evolutionary, his creator. During this, he blasts Rocket causing the electronics inside of him to malfunction. The Guardians take care of Adam then tend to Rocket, aiding him while they think of something to save him. They cannot use a med pack on him as it will fail-safe the technology inside of him. The technology is linked to a company called OrgoCorp, so they head there to retrieve information on how they can save him. After breaking in, they accomplish their goal and retrieve data about Rocket when he was younger. Once they get back to their ship, they view the data they retrieved. After seeing one of The High Evolutionary's recorders downloaded the information to his head, they go after him. This takes them to The High Evolutionary's planet, Counter-Earth. When they step off the ship, Drax destroys a little girl by throwing a basketball into her face, and the neighborhood starts throwing rocks at them. Groot goes into Kaiju mode and scares them away. One of the civilians, Neelie, is helped by Starlord after she hurt her knee trying to run away. She brings them into her home where they discuss why they're there. She gives them the location of the recorder, so they go outside to use her vehicle to drive to him. Drax and Mantis stay back to watch over Rocket. Once Starlord and them arrive, they're brought up to The High Evolutionary by one of his guards. When up there, an argument and fight starts, he sends his ship into space and begins the cleanse of the planet by destroying it. After the ship takes off into orbit and The Guardians save Rocket, they come up with a plan to stop The High Evolutionary. They use the "planet" they bought to go after his ship, causing him to get desperate. During his desperation, he releases the "Hellspawn", a variant of creatures he created to protect his new society. He sends them in to attack them. This causes Starlord, Gamora, and Rocket to crash land into his ship. While on there, they meet up with Drax, Mantis, and Nebula, and create a plan to get all the children and creatures off the ship. They enact their plan and and get everything off of the ship and stop The High Evolutionary. Soon after, this scene happens. Additional Context: This is an alternate version of Gamora. The original Gamora was sacrificed by the first Thanos, to obtain the soul stone in his plan to irradiate half of the universe's population.
