This panel introduces students to the study of South Asia @ the College of Humanities and Sciences, NUS. It provides a glimpse of the socio-economic, cultural and linguistic diversity of the region, and its developmental potential in the face of continued challenges such as social inequality, gender disparity, religious conflict, amongst others. The session will consider some of the key ways of ‘doing’ South Asian Studies, and introduce students to alumna who will share their experiences at NUS, and the value of South Asian Studies in their post-university life and career trajectories.
