In this example, we have multiple cells with different text and we would like count how many times a specific text appears, we will use the formula countif to find the result. This video tutorial showcases the steps to use the COUNTIF function in Excel to count the number of passed and failed students in an exam. By using the COUNTIF function with the whole table, with "pass" in quotation marks as the second input, the number of students who have passed is obtained.
