It wasn’t just any carrot. It was his best carrot — the one he saved for Carrot Picnic Day! Page 2 One sunny morning, Benny woke up and stretched his fluffy ears. He hopped over to his carrot shelf, ready to grab his prized snack… But— GASP! “Where’s my carrot?!” Benny cried. “It’s… it’s GONE!” Page 3 Benny searched high and low. Behind his bed, under his basket, even in his bunny slipper. But the carrot had vanished! “I must find it,” he said. “And maybe I need help.” Page 4 First, Benny visited Poppy the Puppy. She was wagging her tail, chewing on a stick. “Hi Poppy! Have you seen my carrot?” Poppy tilted her head. “Hmm... nope! But I’ll help sniff it out!” So the two friends began to follow their noses. Page 5 They followed a trail of tiny orange crumbs all the way to the pond. There they found Ducky the Duckling, splashing in the water. “Hi Ducky! Did you see a carrot come this way?” Ducky flapped her wings. “I saw something orange bounce by!” she quacked. “It rolled down the hill!” Page 6 The three friends waddled, hopped, and trotted down the hill. At the bottom, they spotted a hole in the ground… And a fluffy white tail sticking out! “Hey! That’s MY tail!” said Benny. “Wait… that’s not me!” Page 7 Out popped Nibbles the Baby Goat, munching on something… “Oh hi!” said Nibbles cheerfully. “I found this delicious carrot rolling all alone. So I took a nibble.” Benny gasped. “That’s my special carrot!” Page 8 Nibbles looked sorry. “I didn’t know it was yours,” he said with big eyes. “I thought it was a gift from the garden!” Benny looked at his half-eaten carrot. He felt a bit sad… But then he saw how happy everyone was to help. Page 9 “It’s okay, Nibbles,” Benny smiled. “I should have kept it in a safer place. But next time, ask before you nibble, okay?” Nibbles nodded. “Want to share the rest with all of us?” Ducky asked. “Let’s make it a picnic!” barked Poppy. Page 10 So they laid out a blanket, shared bunny biscuits, goat grapes, ducky donuts, and… what was left of Benny’s best carrot.
