Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907 was a Boeing 737-800 SFP aircraft that crashed in Peixoto de Azevedo, Amazonas, Brazil on September 29 2006. This accident killed all 148 passengers and 6 crew members and is now the second largest aircraft accident in Brazilian history. . The plane was en route from Manaus to Rio de Janeiro and was preparing to fly. While passing through the Amazon jungle, the plane lost contact with ATC. It was later discovered that the plane collided with an Embraer Legacy corporate jet that was en route to the United States. The plane was slightly below the GOL plane without the crew realizing it, it was later discovered that the crew had accidentally turned off the plane's tracking transponder. The edge of the Legacy's right wing clipped the GOL plane's left wing, causing the GOL plane to lose control and crash into the Amazon jungle.
