Maamannan's son Athiveeran "Veera" is an Adimurai practictioner who is estranged from him owing to a casteist attack from the local dominant community members in his childhood, that left him emotionally and physically scarred. Rathnavelu is the district secretary in the party who belongs to the dominant community. Rathnavelu and Maamannan are always at loggerheads due to his brash and aggressive attitude.
