Smoke in the distance offers a glimmer of hope, but the villagers they encounter quickly shutter their homes and avoid contact. 🚪🚶♀️ As they wander, Amicia spots houses marked with white X's - a sign of plague. The siblings then witness a horrifying scene: an angry mob, led by Conrad Malfort, accusing people of bringing the plague and executing them. 🛑🔥 🏃♀️🏃♂️ Chased through the village, Amicia and Hugo find sanctuary with Clervie, a kindly old lady. She offers them refuge near the infected houses, where the mob dares not tread. 🏠❤️ Clervie equips Amicia with upgraded gear for her sling and shares rumors of Laurentius at the hospice and the monks at the church. ⛪🔧 📣 Hugo's outburst about seeing their mother leads to a heart-wrenching moment where Amicia reveals the truth.
