Daily Liturgy – December 18, 2025 | Our Holy Family | 3rd Week of Advent

🎧 Just a few days before Christmas, the liturgy leads us to the silent heart of the mystery of the Incarnation. Today, we contemplate the discreet and magnificent figure of Saint Joseph, the man of obedient faith, tested in silence and darkness. 📖 Today's Readings: • First Reading: Jeremiah 23:5-8 — “I will raise up for David a righteous Branch… this is his name: The Lord Our Righteousness.” • Psalm: Psalm 71 — “In his days righteousness will flourish and peace abound.” • Gospel: Matthew 1:18-24 — “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid.” 💫 Meditation of the Day: Today, in the O Antiphons, we celebrate the cry “O Adonai” — the sovereign Lord who guides history with a firm and loving hand. And it is precisely under this lordship of God that the trial of Saint Joseph unfolds. The Gospel shows us Joseph before a mystery that surpasses all human understanding: Mary, his wife, is pregnant—and he does not know the origin of that life. Joseph is called just. And justice, here, is not moral rigidity, but uprightness of heart. The just man does not judge without understanding. The just man does not accuse without proof. The just man trusts that God is acting, even when he does not understand. Therefore, Joseph decides to withdraw in silence. Not out of lack of love, but out of reverence. Not out of cowardice, but out of humility. It is in this silence that God speaks. In a dream, the angel reveals to him: “Do not be afraid to take Mary home.” Fear is always the greatest obstacle to God's will. Joseph overcomes fear—and, with that, definitively enters the history of salvation. Here is a beautiful parallel: • Abraham was tested by giving up his son. • Joseph is tested by receiving a Son. Both believe against all human logic. By accepting Mary, Joseph also accepts the mission: to name the Child, to welcome him as his Son, to protect him, to educate him, and to serve him. Therefore, even though he is not the biological father, God grants him true fatherhood. Joseph becomes a father through obedience, a father through faith, a father through love. The First Reading announces the Messiah as “Lord, our Righteousness.” And it is precisely a righteous man whom God chooses to be the guardian of the Savior. On the eve of Christmas, the liturgy teaches us: • God acts in silence, • faith matures in trials, • obedience opens the way to the impossible. 🙏 May Saint Joseph teach us to trust when we don't understand, to obey when everything seems dark, and to welcome God's will even when it comes shrouded in silence. May he help us prepare our hearts to receive Jesus with the same simple yet immense faith that he had. 📿 Follow us on social media: @nossasagradafamilia 📘 Providence E-book: https://nossasagradafamilia.hotmart.h... 🛍 Official Store – Religious Articles: https://www.lojanossasagradafamilia.c... #DailyLiturgy #Advent #SaintJoseph #OAntiphons #GospelOfTheDay #ObedientFaith #OurHolyFamily #LectioDivina #CatholicChurch Become a member of this channel and receive benefits:    / @nossasagradafamilia
