ST. JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO PATRON SAINT OF STUDENTS AND AND EXAM-TAKERS. Dear brothers and sisters, and especially dear students, Today I want to introduce you to a saint who is very close to your lives—St. Joseph of Cupertino, the patron of students and exam-takers. Joseph was born in 1603 into poverty. From childhood, he struggled in everything—he was clumsy, often distracted, and found it very hard to learn. Teachers gave up on him, classmates mocked him, and even his family lost patience with him. By human standards, he was a failure. But Joseph had one great gift: he loved God with all his heart. He prayed constantly, trusted in the Blessed Virgin Mary, and obeyed his superiors with humility. When he studied for the priesthood, he barely managed. And when the day of his final examination came, the examiner asked him only one question—the very question Joseph knew the answer to. He passed! That was no accident. It was God’s way of showing that grace can do what human effort alone cannot. Later, as a priest, Joseph received extraordinary gifts. Often, when he prayed, his soul was so lifted to God that even his body rose from the ground. People saw him fly, but Joseph always said: “God lifts me up because I am too weak to walk on my own.” Now, dear students, what can we learn from him? (1). Do not be discouraged by your weaknesses. You may find some subjects difficult, you may face failures, but God can help you succeed in His own way. (2). Pray before you study, and pray before your exams. Like Joseph, call on the Holy Spirit and Our Lady for help. (3). Trust God’s providence. Just as Joseph was asked the only question he knew, God can arrange things for your good. (4). Remain humble. Success without humility is dangerous, but when we give glory to God, He lifts us higher. St. Joseph of Cupertino’s life shows us that exams are not just about memory or talent—they are also about trust, prayer, and perseverance. So, as you prepare for your tests and challenges, remember this saint who once failed many times, but in the end, became great in God’s eyes. 📖 Dear brothers and sisters, I am happy to present to you a powerful spiritual tool for students and families: The St. Joseph of Cupertino Prayer Book.
