(1 Jun 2018) Officials from the two Koreas will on Friday meet in the border village of Panmunjom as part of continuing talks. South Korean Unification Minister, Cho Myung-kyun, and the Chairman of North Korea's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, Ri Son Gwon, were scheduled to meet for the high-level talks on the back of two previous meetings between their countries' leaders. Before departing for the meeting, Cho said the delegation will focus on discussing ways to enforce the agreements reached by South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in summits that took place on April 27 and May 26. He added that his delegation would try to establish a "positive environment" for the potential June 12 summit between Kim and US President Donald Trump in Singapore.
