On this week's edition of "Under Cover Tuesday". "Hello In There" Written by John Prine Copyright 1971. All Rights Reserved. I do not own the copyright to this song. I first heard of John Prine somewhere in the mid 1990s when I was really starting to get into songwriting and folk music. But it wasn't until the early 2000s when I started to learn more about him and his songwriting that I really made more of a connection to him. Many of John's songs are often humorous, but there's the other side of his writing that is more serious about ordinary people living ordinary lives and the stark reality of it all. Hello In There is one of those songs. John is one of my favorite songwriters of all time and is definitely in my top 10 favorites. He was not shy about boasting the fact that Gordon Lightfoot was his songwriting hero which is something we both had in common. This song comes from his self titled debut album, and has been covered by quite a few artists including Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Lucas Nelson, Brandi Carlile and even the great Divine Miss M herself, Bette Midler. Hope you enjoy! ....Tony #johnprinecover #hellointhere #tonydicorpo
