Today I'm going to show you how I make soap at home and we'll learn a little about the history of this ordinary household item. #DIY #Soap #History ********************************************************************* Follow me on Twitter @AngellRios2 ********************************************************************* Music is 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky ********************************************************************* Equipment: Scale Towels Rubber Spatula Measuring Cup Mixing spoon Something to scoop the mix into the mold (I use a small measuring cup) Wax Paper An immersion blender (optional, mixing by hand might take about 25 minutes) Pot for combining the ingredients and mixing Mold Thermometer Personal Protective equipment: Rubber gloves Eye protection Long sleeve shirt Ingredients: Beeswax 2oz Shea Butter 6oz Coconut Oil 18oz Avocado Oil 18oz Olive Oil oz If you use different oils OR different amounts of oils please use a lye calculator to determine the proper amount of lye to use. https://www.thesage.com/calcs/LyeCalc... I have made my soap to be 8% excess fat.
