Ukraine Awaits Ammunition Against Russia, Europe Divided On How To Spend War Chest of €8 billion?

As war ravages Ukraine, the EU seems to be caught in a debate over how to spend its €1 billion fund on bullets and shells for Kyiv. The bloc is set to use parts of the €8 billion from its European Peace Facility (EPF) to arm Ukraine against invading Russian forces. The EU Council allotted €1 billion from the Peace Facility to partially compensate EU members donating their military stocks to Ukraine. The block earmarked another €1 billion for joint procurement of new ammunition as war rages on its eastern flank. However, questions are being raised if the money should be spent on manufacturers in the EU states supplying the money.
