A strong earthquake hit Sichuan in China in June 1st 2022. The 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit near the city of Ya'an on Monday afternoon. Residents were forced to evacuate their homes, as tremors shook walls. In rural areas, the earthquake caused landslides, which blocked roads and crushed cars. Citizens were advised to remain indoors and not to travel unless necessary. This earthquake was the strongest in a series on the 1st of June, with strong earthquakes also hitting Japan, Papua New Guinea, Nicaragua and Iran.
