Coturnix Quail Brooder

Coturnix Quail Brooder

Here is my setup of quail brooder. It is a 40 gallon aquarium with a wire hood, and heated by a heat lamp. In the first two weeks I also used a milk house heater to heat the room. The Coturnix Quail (Coturnix coturnix), or common quail are more than ready to make their way into a new cage that I am going to build in the basement. I hatched a few quail and moved them into this brooder. At the time it was pretty much the same as you see it in this video. The exception is the heat lamp was lower, there were no pine shavings. In the bottom I had an old towel to avoid getting splinters into the tiny delicate baby quail. The other difference was I had marbles in the water to prevent the babies from drowning. Thanks for watching. Check out my nature videos on my other channel:    / winnebagophoto
