Exterior of al-Kindi hospital STORYLINE: A car bomb hit a busy shopping district in Baghdad on Sunday, killing at least four people and wounding 16, police said. The explosion occurred about 8 p.m. in the downtown neighbourhood of Karradah, Lt. Col. Abbas Mohammed said. The blast shattered the facades of nearby shops and sparked a panic among Iraqis as they were out doing their evening shopping. It was the second strike in two days in the neighbourhood, which is near a Shiite mosque. On Saturday, a parked car bomb hit a police patrol in Karradah, killing five people and wounding 14. The injured were taken to al-Kindi hospital for treatment.
