Did Palpatine kill Padme?

Did Palpatine kill Padme, taking her own life force to keep Darth Vader alive? This is a fan theory I’ve seen thrown around a lot, I think in an effort to make some sense out of Padme losing the will to live. Which…isn’t the greatest story decision, so I get why the theory started. But no, I don’t think there is anything to suggest Palpatine is doing that, and if he were, I think that would take away some of the depth of the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker. He is so afraid to lose Padme, that he goes to horrific lengths to save her. But his journey into the dark side is what causes her death. Even if she had survived, he would have driven her away. Even if, “Losing the will to live,” is a very poor medical diagnosis, having Padme’s death be the fault of Anakin has way more weight than Palpatine killing her. #starwars
