3rd Sunday Of Advent 2025

This video was filmed on 13th December 2025 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Punchbowl, NSW, Australia. It’s the Third Sunday of Advent 2025! THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT (Year A) | December 14, 2025 Welcome to our weekly reflection for the Third Sunday of Advent, traditionally known as "Gaudete Sunday." Today marks the halfway point of the season, where we shift our focus from penitence to the joy of the Lord's coming. QUICK FACTS Date: December 14, 2025 Liturgical Year: Year A Candle Lit: The Pink (Rose) Candle Liturgical Color: Rose (Pink) Theme: Joy (Gaudete) Meaning: "Gaudete" is Latin for "Rejoice." We rejoice because the Lord is near. TODAY'S READINGS (Year A) Create your own reflection using these scripture passages: First Reading: Isaiah 35:1-6a, 10 "Here is your God... he comes to save you." Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 146 "Lord, come and save us." Second Reading: James 5:7-10 "Make your hearts firm, because the coming of the Lord is at hand." Gospel: Matthew 11:2-11 "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?" REFLECTION POINTS Why do we light a pink candle? It represents a break in the fasting and penitence of Advent to rejoice in the nearness of Jesus. In the Gospel, even John the Baptist asks if Jesus is "the one." This Sunday reminds us that patience and trust are required while we wait for God's promises. The reading from Isaiah promises that "sorrow and mourning will flee," a perfect message of hope for anyone struggling this holiday season. #Advent2025 #GaudeteSunday #ThirdSundayofAdvent #Catholic #Christian #SundayReadings #Joy #YearA #BibleStudy Subscribe for more weekly Advent reflections! #advent2025 #SundayScripture #Peace #faith #shorts
