CLARK COUNTY -- Police have released cruiser dash cam video from the chase on Sunday night.Shane Stokes led police from several agencies on a pursuit through Montgomery, Greene, Clark and Champaign counties that at times reached more than 100 mph.September 24 coverage:Dispatch Audio: "He Hit 18 Head On. Are You OK?"CLARK COUNTY -- A man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase through several counties stood before a judge Monday.Bond was set at 5,000 for Shane Stokes. He faces assault, vehicular assault and resisting arrest charges.Sunday night, a nearly 40-minute high-speed chase came to an end after police say Stokes crashed into a deputy's car. An audio recording of dispatch traffic during the chase captured the deputy's voice after that crash."Unknown at this point. He hit 18 head on. Eighteen, can you advise? Are you OK," a deputy asks."I'm alright, grab me a squad though," Sgt. Scott Elliot, the deputy identified as 18, is heard saying. "Crossed the yellow line, hit me."Elliot was treated and released from the hospital late Sunday night.The Sheriff's Office says Stokes intentionally drove into Elliot's patrol car.Elliot will be recovering at home for a few days. "It could have been a lot worse, the officer's very lucky, the public is lucky," says Lt. Dustin White with the Clark County Sheriff's Office. "We weren't trying to get involved in it. And here he decided to use it as a weapon."Authorities say Stokes drove at speeds of 100 mph.Stokes also was charged with possession of heroin and also will face charges in Champaign and Montgomery counties.September 23 coverage:High Speed Chase Suspect Wanted for RobberyCLARK COUNTY -- Authorities are led on a high-speed chase through multiple counties on Sunday evening. It all began in Champaign County when deputies tried to serve Shane Stokes a warrant at a residence. That is when deputies say he got in his car and led them on a chase.Police say when Stokes got to the Dayton area he robbed a Frisch's Big Boy on Benchwood and not even 10 minutes later, a Subway on Needmore.The chase ended in Springfield just off Interstate 70 when Stokes slammed into a Clark County deputy's car. The deputy was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.Stokes led authorities on a 40-minute chase through more than five jurisdictions, with speeds topping 100 mph."Anytime somebody chooses not to follow the law, they choose to run like this they put everyone in a great deal of risk," said Sgt. Chris Colbert, Ohio State Patrol.Neighbors say kids are always playing in the area where the chase ended."It's very scary thing to put all these people's lives in danger over something stupid," said Shara Norman.Colbert says it's unclear what charges Stokes face."He's looking at a lot more charges now than when he was before," said Colbert.He could possibly face aggravated vehicular assault as well as fleeing from officers.Earlier coverage:BREAKING: Multi-County High Speed Chase Ends in Clark CountyCLARK COUNTY -- A wanted robbery suspect leads police on a multi-county high speed chase this afternoon. He is expected to be fine.Police tell us Champaign County deputies began pursuing him, then the suspect crossed Clark County into Montgomery County. He's suspected of robbing some businesses in Montgomery County, and then he took off again. There were up to five agencies pursuing him at one point. They tried to put spikes out to stop him, but weren't able to get him.
