This mission serves as the Heist Finale for the Freighter Approach, one of the two possible strategies for this heist. Trevor, Michael, and Franklin convene at Floyd's apartment to plan their heist. The plan is simple yet dangerous: Franklin will serve as the lookout from the bridge, Michael will infiltrate the freighter to plant explosive charges, and Trevor will pilot the mini-sub to retrieve their target from the seabed. ● Trevor and Franklin head to the vantage point in Trevor's truck, where Franklin sets up on Miriam Turner Overpass. ● As night falls, Michael arrives by boat, diving into the water to board the freighter. ● Franklin eliminates patrolling guards while Michael plants four sticky bombs around the freighter. ● An alarm is triggered as Michael plants the final bomb, leading to a firefight. Franklin handles the guards and an attack chopper while Michael completes the planting. ● Michael leaps off the freighter into the sea, and Franklin detonates the bombs, sinking the freighter. ● Play switches to Michael, who searches the wreckage for the targeted device. ● Trevor arrives in the mini-sub to retrieve the device, and the trio regroups with Floyd at Pier 400. Floyd uses a crane to bring the mini-sub ashore. ● Lester arrives, revealing that the stolen item is actually a super weapon. He convinces Trevor to return it to avoid severe consequences.
