Doris Day (vocal) with Orchestra conducted by Ray Heinsdorf. Recorded at Warner Brothers Studios, Burbank on August 5th 1953. The song was written by Sammy Fain (music) and Paul Francis Webster (lyrics) for the 1953 Warner Brothers Musical-Picture "Calamity Jane", in which it was introduced by Doris Day in the title role. It soon became a number 1 hit for her on both the Billboard and the Cash Box, also in the UK.
