If you’ve ever played LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, then you might remember Bonus levels, small puzzles where you had to figure out the solution and get the minikit as fast as possible. What you may not know is that these levels were actually meant to showcase a new tool the game introduced: the Level Builder. 0:00 Intro 0:13 Explanation 0:25 Outro This feature allows players to place various objects around and have them interact with each other by linking them together, whether to create a challenge, a race or a stud collectathon. But it’s only appeared in two of TT Games’ titles and has since been almost completely forgotten. Now, I’m well aware that later LEGO games have likely become far too complex for this tool’s admittedly simple programming, but what about making it into a standalone game? Both Super Mario Maker games have been incredibly successful and still continue getting coverage to this day, including very recently on Awesome Games Done Quick. I think a similar project could work really well for the LEGO brand, especially with the potential of adding more themes, including licensed IPs.
