Mismatched Billing Address If the billing address on your card doesn’t match the address on your PayPal account, PayPal may block the link. Solution: Check your card statement and ensure both addresses match. Update either your card’s billing address or your PayPal address if necessary. Authorization Charge Declined PayPal might attempt a small authorization charge when adding a card, and this could be declined. Solution: Contact your card issuer to understand why the charge was declined and confirm that PayPal transactions are authorized. Card Limit Reached PayPal allows a maximum of 24 cards per account and 4 cards on unverified accounts. Solution: Remove any extra cards if you’ve reached the limit, or verify your PayPal account if unverified to increase the limit. Card Linked to Another PayPal Account If the card is already linked to another PayPal account, it won’t be accepted on a new one. Solution: Unlink the card from the previous account before adding it to the new one. Incorrect CSC Code Entering an incorrect CSC (Card Security Code) can prevent your card from being added.
