Without a microphone, players can use the button to bring up a menu with two choices: "Bigger" to blow up the balloon and "Stop" to end their turn. The balloon can be inflated up to five times per turn, and before choosing to stop, players must take at least one breath. A player automatically blows into the balloon the maximum number of times if the timer expires during their turn. The players start to cringe as the balloon gets close to burst, and the character who blows in runs much faster after their turn is over. The winner is the last person to fill the balloon without bursting it. There are three rounds in Mario Party: The Top 100, and each round only sees one player eliminated. In place of saying "Bigger," the player blows into the 3DS microphone or presses; they can also press to stop. The controls are also different. The player who pops the balloon is eliminated, and the round is over.
